Ooh I'm a bit behind with dA and only just saw that you got a DD! Congrats! Lovely tones with the coffee there. I love that you seem to have captured some strange moment halfway between a transformation from plant to animal/human (and I especially like the fungi!) Where do the ideas come from for something like this - do you already know what you're going to draw when you start, or does it just kind of appear in front of you as you add more and more lines?

I'm a bit behind too (as per usual)!!
Thanks a lot, Erin! To be honest, I wasn't really sure where I was going with this. To be even more honest, I usually don't know what I'm going to do everytime I start something :P
For this one I just knew I wanted 3 "characters", woody textures and weirdness. I started drawing what I thought could look like a dog-like head (which became the left big creature) and the rest just came as I kept drawing. I liked the idea of a species in which none of the creatures looked the same or had the same features, just a few hints of resemblance.
Now, that's just for this particular drawing, the rest start and flow differently, but the way I work is usually the same :) I hope this is clear enough!
